Ellequate is a tech platform that measures the perceptions, experiences, and well-being of employees, as well as the impact of workplace policies and practices. Organization leaders can sort survey data by identity groups to single out voices that typically go underrepresented and create a more equitable work environment. The platform provides actionable insights and policy suggestions, and continued access to reporting allows employers to see how different changes affect their team’s experiences.
I created a content and PR strategy for Ellequate to help the founder, Nicole, establish thought leadership while growing her digital footprint, her community, and her business. We had to help people understand what the platform does and how this data drives powerful change. Much of her content used data from the platform to help educate people about trends in employee engagement and widespread equity issues like pay gaps, poor mental health in the workplace, limited reproductive health care benefits, and microaggressions. I also helped Nicole create a process for pitching to online publications and podcast hosts, and I created a media kit she could use as a guest, feature, and keynote speaker.
In addition to the content strategy and creative work, I helped Nicole see what was working and where we could maximize followers/subscribers, traffic, and engagement through reporting. I identified topics, tagging strategies, timing suggestions, and tracking tools to help Nicole reach more people and leave a lasting impression. I’m proud to say we had a newsletter open rate around 35 to 45%, and I helped improve email click rates by about 10%.
